The Island of Perpetual Macho Men

Once upon a time, there was an island drifting in the sea. It was inhabited by a strange breed of immutable, and extremely virile macho men, who were affected by an implacable and reverberating sun light that drowsed their senses, impeding their flow of ideas, and compelling them to nudity. Since ancient times, these macho men lived in a patriarchal environment that coerced them into annihilating any trace of fragility, delicacy or ambiguity that could hamper their role as harsh and destructive macho men. They devoted a great deal of their time to the display and care of their penises, source of their greatest pride and paradoxically their most vulnerable part, for without them they were nothing. In this phallocentric island, even the landscape could be transfigured into a savage, devouring sexual mirage. These macho men arrived in the 21st century stranded in their own rigid laws, impoverished by immovable roles, and alienated by sectarian virile games--rubbing their balls was a favorite reaffirmation of their masculinity. In this island of infinite space for the marvelous ‘surreal,’ macho men mutated into new species: the macho-horse, culmination of the dreams and aspirations of power and sex; the macho-homophobe—fortunately a class nearly extinct--, chaser of fragilities and advocate of castrating fears; or the macho rooster who proudly drives antique jalopies that seem like ghostly, ankylosed metaphors from the past resisting change and invigorating the present with a foreign romantic nostalgia. This island of perpetual macho men has been recently infected with a “potent virus” of profound ambiguity that has been cross-dressing the desires of many rude males. We are, undoubtedly, in the presence of an imperfect island, tragic in its beauty, extremely sensual and sexual, where men rule and where lie and truth are blurred and machismo still thrives. This island of perpetual macho men is a “paradise” watched over by the throbbing and rectorial phallus of the macho-guardian.
